These can be ordered by leaving a request in the box at the front door, online, or by calling our prescribing line – see below. If you wish to register for online prescribing please contact the surgery. We will assess if you are suitable and then provide the necessary PIN numbers etc for you to use the system on the Patient Access link below.
We do not fax prescriptions and if at all possible we prefer not to post prescriptions to patients. We work with quite a varied selection of local pharmacists who should be suitable for patients in all areas.
Please note that a minimum of 48 working hours should be given before trying to collect a repeat prescription. This allows for our staff to listen to your message, print the prescription, have it approved and signed by a GP, collected by a pharmacy and then dispensed. If you order a prescription on a Tuesday evening on the prescribing line you should not expect to collect it at the pharmacy until Friday. If you order on a Friday morning you should not try to collect it until the following Tuesday.
Prescribing Line Telephone Ordering Service
Following the introduction of our new telephone system we are happy to announce that we have a prescribing line for the ordering of repeat prescriptions.
This means that patients can now ring the prescribing line and without any delay leave a message giving their name, date of birth, and a list of the medication they require.
This will free up the incoming calls to the surgery making it easier to get through with a query or to make an appointment.
It will also mean less queuing on the phone lines while waiting to order a repeat prescription.
From 2nd October 2023 this line will operate every day Monday to Friday from 7am to 1pm.
The system has proved very popular with patients already and we hope that all our patients appreciate all the efforts made to make their contact with the Health Centre easier.
